The sale of The New Jewish Home’s 744-bed skilled nursing facility in the Bronx, completed on September 21, 2016, strategically positions the organization to best deliver eldercare services throughout its nine-county metropolitan New York service area. The New Jewish Home, formerly known as Jewish Home Lifecare, is a not-for-profit geriatric health and rehabilitation system serving approximately 12,000 individuals each year.
The terms of the sale ensure that the residents of the facility, which has a 5-Star nursing home rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, will continue to be served and that there will be no break in service.
The New Jewish Home remains committed to The Bronx and to the more than 4,000 seniors living in the borough whom The New Jewish Home continues to serve through programs that include independent and assisted living residences for moderate-to-low-income seniors, an adult day program, and a large network of home healthcare services.
