The White House Conference on Aging is an event held once every decade and is dedicated to identifying and advancing actions to improve the quality of life for older Americans. This year, the White House Conference on Aging is looking for national feedback; BRICA is inviting you to weigh in on the issues facing our Bronx community.

8:30 AM – Registration / Continental Breakfast
9:00 AM – Welcoming Remarks: Julia Schwartz-Leeper (Chairman, BRICA) Tribute to Ellen Kolodoney (Elder Abuse Coordinator, Bronx DA)
9:30 AM – Keynote Address: Corinda Crossdale, (Director of New York State Office for the Aging)
10:15 AM – Discussion Groups – Part 1 (Please choose A or B)
Group A – “Retirement Security”
Facilitator: – Bernard Rosen (Public Affairs Specialist, SS Administration)
Group B – “Healthy Aging”
Facilitators:- Lindsay Goldman (Project Director, NY Academy of Medicine-Age Friendly NY),- Kay Boonshoft (Director, Community & Government Relations, Jewish Home)
11:15 AM – Discussion Groups – Part 2 (Please choose A or B)
Group A – “Long Term Care and Support”
Facilitators: – Bridget Gallagher, (Senior Vice President Community Services, Jewish Home), Katherine Martinez (Deputy Director, Presbyterian Senior Services)
Group B – “Elder Justice”
Facilitators:- Evelyn Laureano (Executive Director, Neighborhood SHOPP), Ellen Kolodney (Elder Abuse Coordinator, Office of the Bronx District Attorney)
The conference will be followed by a Garden Party To Celebrate Jewish Home’s University Avenue Assisted Living Program
Come celebrate the first anniversary of the Jewish Home’s University Avenue Assisted Living Program (ALP). Refreshments will be served.
