riklisprizeJewish Home was named first prize winner of the UJA-Federation Riklis Prize in Agency Entrepreneurship. The award recognizes initiatives in social enterprise that have the potential to serve a double bottom line of earned revenue and social good. Jewish Home was recognized for an avatar-based pilot project partnering with Canadian technology start-up, Jintronix. Elders recovering from orthopedic surgery, cardiac surgery or stroke can enhance their physical rehabilitation with this clinically sophisticated, interactive game-based program.

jin3The Jintronix program allows clinicians to customize a patient’s regimen, provides patients and their physical therapists with immediate feedback to help them properly perform their rehab exercises and affords patients the opportunity to do so more frequently and in the comfort of their own home, thereby expediting their recovery.

It is anticipated that Jewish Home’s exclusive use of this system in the New York area market will distinguish us among our peers and lead to a significant increase in Medicare revenue.
