The Sarah Neuman Center was recently awarded $480,920 from the state Green Innovation Grant Program. A majority of the money will be used to vegetate about 55 percent of the 16,000-square-foot roof on top of the nursing home’s Weinberg Building.
“It’s a high priority not only for Sarah Neuman but Mamaroneck as a whole to really get a handle on stormwater management,” said Myles Scott, environmental sustainability manager for Jewish Home. “We’re going to reduce the water that actually goes into the Sound as much as we can.”
