On Tuesday, December 11th, the Rye High School Vocal Ensemble, headed by Helen Cannistraci, gave a brilliant performance for the Special Care Unit at the Sarah Neuman Center for Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Westchester. Helen Cannistraci’s mother was a Sarah Neuman resident several years ago.
The group sang an eclectic range of songs – Broadway, folk, classical, and patriotic. The students not only sounded beautiful; they donned festive attire for the occasion. The girls wore long red dresses and the boys dressed in tuxedos.
Barbara Mullins, Community Coordinator for the Special Care Unit, noted with enthusiasm:
“I just had to take this opportunity to share with you how much the residents enjoyed the [performance]. The residents, staff and families really enjoyed their youth, music, dance and energy…..I would love to have them back.”
