The New Jewish home is declaring a Weather Emergency for the following shifts:

1. All evening shift on Friday, December 26, 2025 (3:30 PM – 11:30 PM)
2. All night shift, on Friday, December 26, 2025 (11:30 PM – 7:30 AM)
3. All day shift on Saturday, December 27, 2025 (7:30 AM – 3:30 PM)
4. All evening shift on Saturday, December 27, 2025 (3:30 PM – 11:30 PM)

Please know that during these emergencies, we strive to do all we can to ensure the safety and security of our residents, clients, tenants, as well as our staff. To that end, we are actively preparing for any special needs that may arise over the next few days. The nursing home is in emergency mode, and calls are being made to clients in our Adult Day and Home Care programs. We commend all our teams for the work they do to ensure that the needs of our clients and residents are met.

As a reminder, our Adverse Weather Procedure is:

1. Employees are expected to report to work at their respective site, if possible; or work can be done from an alternate location, with the approval of the supervisor. No new work from home arrangements can be approved.
2. Sick days cannot be paid unless the illness period occurred prior to, or continued after, the Adverse Weather Condition. We have agreed that sick time would also be provided to anyone who actually receive medical treatment at a hospital on the day of the emergency and provided proof of same.
3. Vacation and Holidays must be scheduled in advance. No vacation or holiday will be approved if the request comes on the day of the emergency.
4. No early dismissal has been approved.
5. Please excuse those employees who arrive late.

In order to further support staff, Jewish Home is happy to be able to provide the following during this time:

1. Sleeping accommodations will be made for anyone who wishes to stay over. Please note that staff will be paid for hours worked, rather than hours sleeping.
