Good afternoon everyone.

I invite you all to pause for a moment. It is a beautiful day. The sun is shining and it’s finally beginning to feel like spring. 

One thing we know for sure these days, is that the only thing we can count on is change. Every week, every day, our lives and the world around us are changing.

What helps us endure is knowing that we are a team, that we are all in this together, and that love and compassion will sustain us.

My teacher, Father Henri Nouwen wrote:

“Compassion asks us to go where it hurts, to enter into the places of pain, to share in brokenness, fear, confusion, and anguish. Compassion challenges us to cry out with those in misery, to mourn with those who are lonely, to weep with those in tears. Compassion requires us to be weak with the weak, vulnerable with the vulnerable, and powerless with the powerless. Compassion means full immersion in the condition of being human.”

This teaching is a great reminder that our compassion is our humanness. And a reminder that team Sarah Neuman is filled with compassionate humans.
