Lifelong Mamaroneck resident Rita Spampinato celebrated her 100th birthday on September 14, 2023, at The New Jewish Home, Sarah Neuman.

In attendance: President and CEO of The New Jewish Home Dr. Jeffrey Farber, fellow residents and staff of Sarah Neuman, and Mamaroneck Village Trustee Lou Young, who presented Rita with a birthday proclamation on behalf of the Village of Mamaroneck. The highlight was seeing Rita tearfully reunite with her beloved sister. Rita devoted her career cooking for students at Mamaroneck High School, The Convent of the Sacred Heart in Greenwich, CT, and the New Canaan Country School until her retirement in 1998 at age 75. Rita, congratulations on reaching this milestone birthday and for recently becoming a great-great-grandmother. Thank you for showing us all what it means to Age like a New Yorker!
