Jean Troubh

Jean has devoted her impressive philanthropic career to helping not-for-profit organizations strengthen board governance and fulfill their missions. She has served as a Trustee on more than 14 not-for-profit Boards including Blythedale Children’s Hospital, Louise Wise Services, the British American Educational Foundation, Prep For Prep and Foundation for Excellent Schools.

In addition, she Co-Chaired the Adopt-a-Delegation Program for New York ’92, the Democratic Convention, and has served at UJA-Federation of New York as Co-Chair of the Network Council and on the Task Force on Board Governance.

From 1989-2019, Jean was a Trustee of The Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services (JBFCS), the largest social service organization in New York City, serving as President from 2002-2006 and then Chairman of the Board.
Presently, Jean is a Governor of Century Country Club, where she served as the first female President of the Board. Jean is also Vice President of the Carroll and Milton Petrie Foundation and Executive Chairman and former President of the Board of City Parks Foundation, which runs free programs in parks throughout New York City. She is Honorary Chair of the Board at JBFCS.

Throughout her career, Jean has been recognized for her leadership and philanthropy. In 1997, City Parks Foundation awarded her its Parks Achievement Award. In 2005, Jean received the Jacob Schiff Community Impact Award for leadership, service, and generosity from JBFCS. In 2011, Women’s Philanthropy of UJA awarded Jean and her sister, Betty Loeb Levin, a Volunteer Service Award.

Prior to focusing her efforts on board governance, Jean taught Kindergarten at Park Avenue Christian Church Day School and also worked as a travel consultant at Zenith Travel.

Jean is a graduate of The Brearley School, where she was awarded the Frances Riker Davis Alumna Award in 2019, and Wellesley College, where she was a Durant Scholar. She also attended the Harvard-Radcliffe Program in Business Administration from 1960-61, before women were admitted to Harvard Business School.
