William Percy Klingenstein

William Percy Klingenstein (Bill) was born and raised in Manhattan. Having graduated from the Berkshire School in Sheffield, Massachusetts and the University of Miami with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, he began a long career on Wall Street. After many years of selling and trading corporate bonds, his career culminated as a stockbroker at Wertheim and Company.

Bill and his wife, Fran, and daughter, Stacy, left the City and moved to Purchase, New York in 1977. This was the beginning of his dedicated commitment serving on the Boards of the Purchase College Foundation at SUNY and The New Jewish Home, each for over 20 years. Soon after moving to Purchase, Bill and Fran welcomed their son John into the world and the family was complete.

Bill’s greatest joys are the times spent with his children and now his three grandchildren, Gabby, Saralina and Stasiu. He also enjoys travelling the world and gardening.
